Kharma was sold to slaughter for a single bottle of alcohol. By the time she was rescued she'd already been abused — left with scars she still carries today. But she wasn't alone: her daughter Victoria came through it with her, and the two were inseparable, best friends to the end. We lost Victoria to cancer a few years ago. Kharma carries on — grayer now, gentler, still here because people who'd never meet her decided she was worth saving. She still needs them. She needs you.
